How To Perfect Gel Nails?
First up, we want to expel the myth that doing your nails at home is a difficult skill to learn. Of course, you'll get better with practice but we can promise you'll be getting that salon quality look in no time.... and also... show us a better lockdown task you could be doing.
We've put together a quick guide below to help you with getting to grips with your new gel nail set #GetTheLuxeLook.
Set up:
- Find yourself a flat surface indoors with good lighting but make sure you are not in direct sunlight.

Cover the area you intend to use to avoid any damage that could be caused by spillages.

Lay out all the contents of the kit on your chosen surface so that everything is accessible.

Plug in your Luxe Nail Lamp
Prep:
-
Wash and thoroughly dry your hands

Use your Nail File to file the edge of your nails to your desired shape

Buff your nails gently with your Nail Buffer

Pay special attention to the cuticle area and sides of the nails, these areas are where lifting may occur due to poor preparation
Cleanse:
- Use your Cleanser liquid to prepare and clean the nails.
Apply Base Coat:

Choose which hand you will manicure first.. we normally start with the left!

Apply a thin, even layer of Base Coat to all four fingers and thumb, capping the ends of the nails, do not touch the skin around the nail or the cuticle.
Cure

Place hand in Nail Lamp, turn on and choose 60 second timer

After 60 seconds the lamp will turn itself off, your base coat is cured, however it will still be tacky as it creates a sticky layer for your colour coat to attach to, so avoid touching the nails
Apply Colour and Cure

Choose your shade from the colours included in your kit

Apply the colour in the same way as the Base Coat, the layer should be very thin and cap the end of the nail, avoiding the cuticle and sides of the nail

Place hand under Lamp and switch on, and choose the 60 second timer

Repeat steps 2 and 3 until you are happy with the depth of colour, 2 coats of colour are recommended however 1 coat will give a sheer look whilst 3 coats will give a very solid depth of colour
Apply Top Coat and Cure

Apply a thin, even layer of Top Coat to all four fingers and thumb capping the ends of the nails, do not touch the skin around the nail or the cuticle

Place hand under Lamp and switch on, this time choose the 60 second timer
Shine and Enjoy:

Once cured, the nails will still have a tacky layer on them, this is normal

Use your Cleanser Wipes to remove the tacky layer and create your high shine finish!
